Job Description

Must have CDL ClassA over 26001 combined Hazmat endorsement

Classification: Truck Driver/Warehouseman

1. Essential Job Functions: To operate commercial motor vehicle to transport freight in inters state commerce between locations and customers or from home location to distant point(s) and return.

2. Duties:

* Inspect vehicle and required parts and accessories to determine safe operating condition prior to departure

* Check shipping papers to determine nature of load and any special hazards, and check load itself and methods of securing it

* Operate vehicle in compliance with company rules and all applicable state and federal

* Regulations, and in accordance with accepted principles of safe driving

* Deliver freight to customers

* Pick up freight as required

* Load and unload freight as required (lift approximately 50lbs or more)

* Collect freight charges as instructed

* Perform other related work as required *Pass DOT physical required by law • Use powered or non-powered materials handling equipment, safely and in a timely manner, as necessary; and do all other duties assigned.

• Receive and reconcile shipments noting shortages and or damages.

• Load and unload trucks or other common carriers and transports property to specified areas either by hand or by use of powered or non-powered materials handling equipment.

• Assist in the receiving, unpacking and checking of incoming material against invoices or bills of lading to verify items and quantities received.

Under supervision, perform work in the receipt, storage, inventory, of property.

3. Miscellaneous Responsibilities:

* Report all accidents, incidents of equipment damage involving driver or company equipment

* Maintain trip records as required

* Maintain for compliance with state and federal regulations including driver’s logs, records of fuel purchases, mileage records, etc.

* Proper use and care of all equipment assigned to him/her for the performance of his/her duties.

* Reports promptly any delays that will affect pick up or delivery appointments.

• It is understood that these are the job duties to be performed and any other duties or tasks given by a supervisor.

4. Physical Requirements

* 49 CFR 391.41 (if Applicable)

* Driver must be able to sit for extended periods of time in a truck tractor.

* Driver must be able to walk, bend, reach, push, pull, stoop, squat, and climb, lift and carry approximately 30lbs, as necessary, to perform vehicle inspections.


* Qualifications Required

• Education - High school diploma or GED.

• Experience - two (2) years required

 Additional Requirements: CDL, (Good) Driving Record
