DESCRIPTION:The Sylacauga Parks and Recreation is hosting a Basketball Shoot-out at the J. Craig Smith Community Center Gymnasium on Friday\, February 23 at 5:30pm. There will be two different competitions: a skills competition and a 3-point competition for boys and girls ages 8-15. The skills competition\, a timed dribble\, pass\, shoot challenge\, will be divided into three age groups: 8-10\, 11-12\, 13-15. Each age group is also able to participate in the 3-point competition. Only 10 participants will be allowed in each age group\, so players are encouraged to sign up quickly before the slots fill up. Prizes will be awarded to the top two in each age group. Entry fee is $10. Parents can register their children online at Sylacauga.recdesk.com under the Special Events category. \n \n\nThe mission of the Sylacauga Parks and Recreation is to enhance the quality of life for the citizens of Sylacauga and surrounding areas by providing quality parks\, facilities\, activities\, programs\, and events.
