SUMMARY:Seniors: Weather Radio Programming Event
DESCRIPTION:The Sylacauga Parks and Recreation is thrilled to offer a weather radio programming event to the senior citizens of our community. ABC 33/40's meteorologist Evan Chickvara will be at the Maxye Veazey Senior Center on Friday\, August 16 from 10:00 AM until 12:00 PM to check and program weather radios for those who are age 55+. Seniors are asked to bring their own weather radios to be checked and/or programmed\; however\, thanks to the generosity of Bill Pharr with Area Real Estate\, Inc.\, we will be able to offer 20 free weather radios to seniors who do not have a weather radio or the means to purchase one. \n \n\nThe Maxye Veazey Senior Center is located at 2 West 8th Street\, Sylacauga\, AL. The building is attached to the side of the J. Craig Smith Community Center. Participants should enter at the porte-co with rocking chairs. \n \n\nThe Sylacauga Parks & Recreation is grateful to meteorologist Evan Chickvara who made this event possible and Bill Pharr of Area Real Estate for providing the weather radios to those in need.
